January and February, 2012

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. I am looking forward to the New Year and all the exciting possibilities. Did everyone get there Christmas knitting done? I finished my mini mitten advent garland (with the help of Janice) and it has inspired me to do one ornament a month for next Christmas. I think the key for me is to start in January and don’t wait till the last minute.

The Knitter’s Lane wish book -- The wish book isn’t just for Christmas. It’s for birthdays, anniversaries, mother’s day or any time. – just in case someone comes into the store and is wondering what you would just love for that special gift. Fill out a page next time you are in the store. We also have gift certificates available. Gift certificates can be used on yarn, books, needles and notions.

Classes -- I am thinking of doing an entralac class and another sock class. Let me know if anyone is interested. I’ am thinking towards the end of January. Let me know if you are interested. As always if you buy your supplies from me I will teach you to knit or help if I can.

All You Can Knit Night -- We get together once a month and knit, crochet, spin or whatever you would like to do until 10:00pm. You are welcome to bring a snack to share with the group if you would like. This month’s knit night, bring a friend who has never been in and is a knitter or would like to become one, and you and your friend will get 10% off. We have linked our knit night to Mckinleyville’s Art Night! (MAN). January’s date is the 20th and February’s date is the 17th. With all the holiday celebrations I haven’t gotten the artists together. You will just have to come in and see. All You Can Knit Night is a time for moms to have a night out by themselves, so no children please. Write this date on your calendar and come join us.

Contests – I have no contests planned. Our last one only had one entry. I know at least 5 people bought yarn for it. It’s not quite as fun with only one. Let me know what you would like to do for a contest. Maybe we will have a contest to see what the contest will be.

Our Yarn of the month— This month’s sale will include sales all around the store. Some books, patterns and yarn.
